A place for Friends?

you know what has lost a lot of its luster....social networking. there was once a time where myspace and facebook were an Internet sanctuary, where friends could share parts of the their lives that no one would normally care about...but because it was online, it became important. dont get me wrong, it had its fun moments, but unfortunately it has become somewhat of an unnecessary inconvenience to me. reconnecting with friends and family that you havent seen in years is awesome, but then you have the "stalkers". the people who barely know you, but think that becoming your online friend will change that. they sit waiting for you to post pictures or update your status so they can comment...so that they have something that they can talk to you about. then there are the weirdos that flood you timeline with new status updates every 10 minutes. what kills me are those people who add you as friends, but then get offended by what you say and complain about it as if you made them request you. and finally we have the losers who take it personal when you "unfriend" them because they do some of the aforementioned things.

maybe its just me, maybe i need to be more selective on who i add or associate with online. come to think of it, i may be the only "anti-socialite" on the social network.

Roasted like Ever: The Eli Porter Story

These dudes thought that they were going to clown this guy. Not only did Eli have a better verse than the other guy, but the clowns who put it together look very suspect together. He's "the best mayne..."

"oh....you just a PE teacher"

Do me a favor....dont shit on my job. you dont do what i do. shit...you dont even know what i do. when i tell people that you are a PE teacher, i might as well tell them that im are buffing floors at popeyes. i get that "oh...you're JUST a PE teacher" look. dont get me wrong, i dont teach TAKS or do DRA's, but just because you do...it dont mean you better than me. for your information, i was ESL certified in EC-4 way before i became PE certified. Yes i have a degree from a real college. and yes, i get paid just as much as you. i was just fortunate enough to get to wear sweats and tennis shoes while doing it. i feel i made the better choice, dont hate.

"its cheaper to keep her"

Today I have been hit with what feels like a blow to my pockets. Kelis, former pop star, will get $55,000 from her ex Nas in spousal and child support. Are you kidding me? That is about a half a million a year for a child that she just had this week!!! GTFO! To add insult to injury, Nas has to pay her legal fees, another $45,000. This is a lot less than the $80K that Kelis was initially asking for, but way more than the $5,000 Nas was willing to pay. Before you peg Nas as cheap, consider this. Diddy (who makes way more money) pays $20,000 and 50 Cent pays his baby moms $6,700 a month. Russell Simmons’ is also required to pay $40,000 a month in child support (20k per child) to his ex-wife Kimora which is an amount he agreed to pay. Nas should’ve saved his money from that ugly ass tattoo of Kelis face and spent it on better lawyers, because he is getting robbed. Men, if you have money (regardless of how successful your wife is) and you do not have a prenuptial, don’t get married! These females are wildin’ the hell out. And with shit like this getting passed, every man should put their rubbers on a lil’ tighter.

"Yo, Check the Perm!"

The most dangerous men's hairstyle could quite possibly be my next fixture in my library. After a long day of viewing fine art from around the world, this book spoke to me. "Yo, Check the Perm!" is a compilation of 10 people who dared to change their lives thru the power of the permanent.

RIP MICHAEL JACKSON 1958-2009

i know it is a week late, but i wanted to shout out one of the greatest musical talents of my life time. he may have been weird, but dude had hits!! RIP MJ

MEN...Stop the BULLSH*T!! NOW!!

maybe I’m just getting old. I don’t understand the music kids listen to nowadays, I don’t understand their language, i dont get the dances, and I definitely don’t get the NONSENSE these young boys are wearing. SKINNY JEANS on men make baby angels cry! were pants this androgynous in the 80's? when I was young, the fashion craze was heavily starched baggy jeans. sure they weren’t the best looking thing, but at least we didn’t look like we had leotards on. the old folks then, used to get offended because they might see our underwear from all the saggin'. but, quite honestly I’m more offended when I can see your "package" through your pants.

if you see anyone dressed like this, please slap them for me. Men, stop the debauchery.

peep the clothes, music, and the dancing in this video....smh!

Mans best friend...i guess so

I’m going to go away from the norm and talk about a more serious topic. but don’t worry; it is still high grade nonsense. i know this story probably has been run into the ground, but bare with me. Today, Cleveland Browns wide receiver Donte' Stallworth began serving a 30-day jail sentence for killing a pedestrian while driving drunk in Florida, a punishment made possible by his cooperation with investigators and the fervent wish by the victim's family to put the matter behind them. on May 20, 2009, Michael Vick was released from federal prison and is now on house arrest after funding and participating in a dog fighting ring. he was initially sentenced to 23 months for his crimes.

I have a slight beef with these cases. in one case; one man runs an illegal operation by fighting, profiting from and killing dogs. in the other case; the other man drives drunk through Miami and kills another human. one man gets EVERYTHING he has taken from him; millions of dollars in endorsements and contract money, his career, 23 months of his freedom, and also becomes vilified on every media outlet. the other man gets to cut a check to the family, 30 DAYS in jail, minimal media coverage, and (as of right now) a job to go back to. is this where we are as a society now…where a man’s life is not worth as much as some dogs? i know the cases are different. i know that Vick didn’t cooperate with the government like Stallworth did. but where is the hammer? where is the outrage that was there with Vick? is MADD protesting Stallworth like PETA was for Vick? is dog fighting so much worse than DUI manslaughter? Don’t get me wrong, I don’t endorse either crime, but i will kill my own dog before i let something happen to someone in YOUR family!

Maybe my priorities are wrong. maybe I’m the only one bothered by this. but it just doesn’t add up to me. you can’t have people think that drunk driving can be swept up under the rug. And I know it’s still early, but i hope Roger Goodell decides to come down hard on Stallworth and give him at least an 8 game suspension. i also hope that people begin to value human life as much as they do their dogs.

this is gb, and that’s the nonsense!

UPDATE: on June 18th, Cleveland Browns WR Donte' Stallworth was suspended indefinitely without pay by the NFL.
